Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

I tried to give this place a chance. I really did. I was ready to make it my new “I’m exhausted, feed me before I collapse” Chinese food stop on the way home. Instead, I ended up with a whole situation that absolutely nobody asked for. I opened my food and found a hair — and not a subtle one. When I brought it up, I was told it was my hair. Let’s pause right there. My hair is locked, and it is not black on top and blonde in the middle. That alone should’ve ended the conversation. But no — the blame suddenly jumped to my child’s hair. At that point, I knew we had officially entered comedy hour. That was the nail in the coffin, the credits rolling, the “thanks for coming to my TED Talk” moment. I have better things to do than drive 10 minutes back (and that’s on a good day with no traffic) to return food I was excited to eat while starting my weekend. I wasn’t trying to run errands. I wasn’t trying to debate hair color. I was trying to relax. Instead, I got blamed, then my kid got blamed, and somehow the hair still wasn’t theirs? Make it make sense. This could’ve been my go‑to spot. Instead, it turned into a whole episode of “Customer Service Gone Wrong.” If you can’t own your mis

Food was okay, the fried rice seemed to be old and had a dry taste like it was warmed up. The entrees were good. The biggest issue I had were the inaccurate menu prices. There was additional .50 cents added to each plate as well as a .35 cent credit card fee. Not much, but I’m not a fan of hidden fees.
